The Crit today allowed use to discuss this time in more detail about what it is we were trying to produce. Using the mockups that myself and Hannah had produced as a basis for discussion. Overall the Crit went very well. There was obviously good feedback but some more constructive points include:
+ Visual Styling
Although myself and hannah have decided to produce information graphic posters our design style is not yet set, we should look at different ways in which information is displayed and use this as a basis for building a particular look, taking into account the visual needs of the client. Colour, type etc.
+ Information Used
We aim to gather information by asking the company questions, if feedback is not received we intend to create hypothetical information until correct information can be applied. The selcted information will be based around the showroom space and not it's paper, volume, area, price etc.
+ Could we actually send some out?
The project is hypothetical but it may be appropriate to see how they would be posted and get critical recipient feedback.
+ Tone of Voice
The target recipient of the posters that we produce would be the client from which order the specialist paper from Fedrigoni. Designers and studios on an international scale purchase paper from them, it is a wide audience however as designers we feel that a piece enclosed within their sample pack would entice and make the recipient consider the Fedrigoni more as their supplier.
I myself would like to look into ways this poster could be printed and the paper used. As a speciality paper supplier it would be ethical to use the finest materials and processes possible regardless of cost. I am particularly interested in the use of foil blocking, and would like to use the screen printing facilities to enhance the visual quality of what we produce.
