ReplyDelete+ Clear and focussed genre selection with a clear idea of audience. Your concept is definitive and well thought out. Especially with the Valentines Day twist conveniently correlating to real time dates approaching.
- Perhaps consider a bottom end bracket to the age range. This should help you to specify film selection to tie into your Valentines Day twist.
CONTEXTUAL UNDERSTANDING
+ Strong research into existing idents and a clear written summary of your understanding/ thoughts about them.
- However, you need more visual evidence (research) to back this up. Post more horror film sequences onto your blog.
RESEARCH
+ A good variety of idents have been documented which should prove useful in conjunction with advertisements. An excellent documentation of wider research shows that you are not limiting yourself in terms of obtaining inspiration.
- You need to show evidence of the above comment (contextual understanding criticism). Also secondary research into hand cut imagery with a darker twist may be more relevant. Rob Ryan is a good starting point, but he is a bit twee for the genre and may not be that useful in the long run.
DESIGN DIRECTION
+ You have given yourself a good basis from which to progress, you now need to delve deeper into the key areas that exploit the dark and fearful etc.
- More visuals to support written ideas are needed especially in relation to colour, tone of voice and typographic aspects.
